Nothing extraordinary event happened during CNY this year. However, there were some slight changes on the time schedules which we planned earlier.
We have initial thought on visiting my childhood’s neighbours at Ayer Keroh, Malacca. However, my dad refused to join us by claiming that the terrifying traffic jam at Negeri Sembilan and Malacca. Thus, we all spent the whole day 1 at KKB watching CNY TV programs. Wasted!
As planned, we visited relatives at KKB at noon on day 2. Mum was playing mahjong after the lunch. Dad was watching CNY TV programs. Where were we? We headed to 1U with friends to do some shopping. I finally found a notebook bag at U-Parkson with a cheaper price as compared to Tarcus. It is quite good looking though. In the evening, we had our dinner at Sans Francisco Steak House, Mid Valley Megamall. No many people there. I guess is because of the festival season. Anyway, the food was OK.
We went to Ipoh on day 3. Traffic in the PLUS highway was not as bad as we thought. It was about 2 hours journey. We spent the whole afternoon on visiting friends and relatives. In the evening, we were almost late for the dinner at Sun Lee Hou Fook Restaurant with my uncle and family as too many traffic lights and cars which caused the traffic congested. We went back straight to KKB after the dinner. It was exhausted!
On day 4, we went to Damansara Emas to look for the house before we wanted to visit my auntie. It was a silent afternoon. Probably most of the residents haven’t come back during CNY. The weather looked like going to rain soon. We snapped some photos in the area with my dad and some nice shot.
It has been a while we didn’t catch up with Caessy and Yuen Teng. I was glad to have gathering with them at Starbucks, The Curve on day 5 evening. Surprisingly, they brought us another two friends who didn’t contact for ages! Yai Leong is currently works at RFM 98.8 and Seven just back from Korea trip, who also won a prize for a short movie clips few years ago in ASTRO. Both of them were involved in the event of the open air concert at Bintang Walk last year. It was really cool to hear from them on some funny stuff happened on the artists. The chitchat was ended at 1am as most of us have to work on the next day.
Well, that’s all for my CNY 2006.

Obviously, CNY eve is essential to every Chinese who celebrating CNY as the reunion dinner is the implicit reason that it’s so important particularly for people at overseas and other non-adjacent areas in Malaysia.
As scheduled, Minyoon and Koon are my passengers who always give me accompany back to my hometown. As usual, we always grab something at shopping mall before we headed back and this year we chose The Curve (Near KOTA DAMANSARA).
I heard there is no photography at any spot as long as you stepped in The Curve. This is totally weird! I can’t keep figuring out the reason behind the irrational restriction! Anyway, who cares?!! I still see a lot of photography sessions there!
The main hall is decorated with full of CNY senses (as you can see from the photo album-My Chinese New Year Eve 2006 at The Curve!). Many “tang lungs” are hanged at the plantations around the stage. We also watch some CNY shows at stage like, magic show, etc.
NOKIA, a comfortable, spacious and trendy outlet, is surrounded with dummy sets and you could have a “feel” on them. I personally like the design of 8800 and 9300 but not the features. We stepped in to enquire the date of launch for N80. Sadly, the shopkeeper knows nuts about it.
We intended to take PLUS highway from KOTA DAMANSARA toll. However, we ended up took the short cut way near Batu Caves. The traffic jam was terrifying at PLUS highway (speed range of 10km per hour). We took the KEPONG/SG. BULOH exit after 30 min journey from KOTA DAMANSARA toll. It was two hours journey, the longest hours I spent although the distance is not that far.
PS: Special thanks to minyoon for his bravery to snap the photos in The Curve and also The NOKIA Outlet!
